fishin

Since I've been back from holiday, I've found it much easier to avoid going to work every waking moment. In fact, I find it is much easier to not go to work at all. So this is what I've been doing on Sunday afternoons.

Behold, the might wooly bugger. I call him green boy.

green boy

Just tied this one, but his brother was successful in finding his way into the mouths of several fish the last couple of weeks. His cousin black boy also found success in his mission.

You might be thinking, it is the middle of december, what am I doing standing in a desert lake, in this weather. In fact, I find it quite peaceful. The view from the lake:

mist

Fellow fishermen:

icefog

As serene as this looks, this day was biting cold. (16 degrees Fahrenheit, give or take a couple) In fact, after about 15 minutes, it became impossible to fish, in light of the complete loss of feeling in the hands. That, and the fact that the eyes on one's fly rod tended to ice shut. But after a couple of fish, it was onto the "local" bar at the lake, to sip a beer and watch the football game. Good times... good times.

coincidence

fcookie

Coincidence or Conspiracy? I went out for chinese food tonight, my fortune cookie said "You will soon be enjoying some well-deserved time off." For those who know me well, this rings very true. Confucious say... maybe there's more to mass-produced, individually packaged, generic fortune cookies have more to them than meets the eye...

this will take some investigation.

So I can turn it into this (the first pic is the green stuff at the top of this pic, the opened-up dirt at the foreground is now filled with "communities," filled with homes - not houses - for people with families):

numero uno

So hopefully this will be the first of many - you can check out my previous attempt here. I can't for the life of me remember how to log on as Johnny Scrambler anymore, so here we are. For introduction's sake, and for the less intuitive, a history of the login name, and the blog title:

The name is just a play on the old 45 rpm vinyl records. Get it, "revolutionary" 45? Plus a nod to the role that music can play in social change. blah blah.

A "wooly bugger" is a particular type of artificial fly used for wet fly-fishing, designed to imitate some sort of nymph or something...

More posts to come, hopefully with pics of my many adventures and exploits, and vivid descriptions. Until then..
